The rules we follow

1Licensing and supervision

  • We operate only under a valid pharmacy licence issued by the NHRA (licence No. 32000816).Legislative Decree No. (18) of 1997, Art. 14
  • A pharmacist licensed to practise in the Kingdom of Bahrain is in charge of the pharmacy’s professional work at all times.Art. 27
  • Only licensed pharmacy professionals prepare and dispense prescriptions or sell medicines to the public.Art. 40
  • Major changes to the pharmacy are made only with prior written approval from the authority.Art. 25
  • Our pharmacy name is displayed in both Arabic and English.Art. 24

2Medicines and dispensing

  • Prescription-only medicines are dispensed only against a valid prescription. They are never sold, advertised or offered through this website.Decree No. (18) of 1997, Art. 71
  • Controlled medicines are dispensed only on the special prescriptions required by law, and are stored and recorded as the law requires.Law No. (15) of 2007 on Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances
  • We supply only medicines and pharmaceutical products registered in the Kingdom of Bahrain, and never sell above the official price.Art. 95
  • Free medical samples are never sold or offered to the public.Arts. 76–77
  • Our pharmacists do not prescribe or practise medicine; first aid may be given in an emergency at the pharmacy.Art. 11

3Storage, records and quality

  • Medicines are stored properly and in good condition. Expired products are removed and are never kept for sale.Art. 23
  • We keep a register of all medicines received — date, type, quantity and source — and all other records the authority requires.Arts. 22 & 39
  • Working hours, including night and holiday duty, follow the applicable ministerial orders.Art. 41

4Advertising and information

  • We do not advertise prescription medicines. Advertising any non-prescription medicine requires prior written approval.Art. 71
  • Everything we publish is accurate and not misleading. We do not use superlatives such as “the best” or “the first”.Art. 72; NHRA Guidelines for Advertising Health Services

5Confidentiality and personal data

  • Our pharmacists keep confidential any information they learn through their work.Art. 13
  • Personal data is handled in line with the Personal Data Protection Law.Law No. (30) of 2018

6Professional conduct

  • Our pharmacists practise with accuracy and honesty, cooperate with other professionals in the interest of patients, and avoid unfair competition.Art. 10
  • Our pharmacists do not engage in self-publicity that could affect the integrity of the profession.Art. 12

7Medical equipment (AJ Healthcare)

  • Medical devices supplied through AJ Healthcare are registered with the NHRA where registration is required, and are presented in line with NHRA rules on advertising medical devices.NHRA Medical Devices Regulation

Reporting a side effect or a concern

If you think a medicine or medical device has caused a side effect, please tell our pharmacist in store or on +973 3366 8480 or +973 6631 1363, or speak with your doctor. You can also report it directly to the National Health Regulatory Authority.
